Aerial 360-degree Sunset Panoramic in Merritt Island, Florida

November 7th, 2019, I decided to go out and fly the DJI Phantom 4 advanced drone to capture an aerial 360-degree panoramic image above one of the local bridges at twilight. My intention was to get an aerial 360-degree view of both Merritt Island and Cocoa with cars on the bridge in motion. I also knew that when I converted the spherical projection into a stereographic projection, the resulting “little planet” or “tiny planet” image would look cool with the bridge connecting the two land masses. However, due to this location being close to the local airport, I decided to keep the drone at a safe altitude of 150 ft as the nearby powerlines and condos are roughly the same height. I think the little planet image would look cooler from a higher point of view.
