Abandoned Apalachicola Inn

On March 10th, 2021 while walking around Apalachicola, I spotted this cool place that was once a hot spot in the area known as the Apalachicola River Inn. This once-thriving 24-room hotel had a bar/lounge and restaurant with an amazing view of the river. It seemed like the property had some financial issues that may or may not have had to do with the 2018 Hurricane Micheal that riped through these parts doing some serious damages. As of 2020, the property has been purchased by a local investment firm with plans to remodel the site and bring life back to this amazing location directly on the river. Check out the few images I captured while at the property.

While I didn’t see any “No Trespassing” signs, there were cameras (pointing upwards) and there were obvious renovations taking place in the hotel rooms. Due to this,  I limited my time at the property and didn’t explore deeper inside, as I really only wanted to capture the amazing sunset on the water.

Check out the other abandoned locations I have photographed and leave a comment on your favorite places.

Equipment used:

  • Canon 6d mkii
