Curtis Creek in North Carolina
On May 23rd, 2021, I took the Curtis Creek road along the blue ridge parkway to get back towards Fairview. This road and area was the first tact of national forest land purchased under the authority of the Weeks Law on March 1, 1911. This is an 8100-acre tract that was dedicated to the memory of Dr. ChaseP. Ambler of Asheville, North Carolina, and his associates in appreciation of their timely efforts to establish additional national forests and their pioneering in forest conservation.
While driving along the road, I stopped several times to enjoy the scenery and below you can see a couple of 360-degree panoramic images I captured at one of the waterfalls as well as some that I captured with my iPhone 11 Pro max.

The area is great for camping, hiking, fishing, bicycling, or just a scenic drive. One of the trails you can hike is the infamous Mackey Mountain trail. About mid-way along the road, I passed the Curtis Creek campground which seemed to be a popular campground.
